Canvas Up

To canvas up is the process of enlarging the canvas area of an image to include whitespace so that it fits a larger print size.size.

In the image below, a 6x5 size image is canvased up to a 12x6.

Canvas in Photoshop

To canvas up an image in Adobe Photoshop, follow these simple instructions:

1. Open your image in Adobe Photoshop.
2. Crop the image for the height and width you desire with the Crop Tool.
3. Go to Canvas Size, under the Image menu, and resize the canvas to the next larger print size.
4. Flatten image before saving
